A Chrome break timer for social media scrolling
Corgi Guard is a free Chrome extension that counts active time on tracked social sites. When your limit is reached, a corgi blocks the page and starts your break countdown.
Add to Chrome - FreeHow the break timer works
- Set a social media usage limit.
- Choose how long the break should last.
- Browse normally while Corgi Guard counts active time.
- When the timer ends, the corgi overlay blocks the page.
- After the countdown finishes, your session resets.
Built for focused, lightweight breaks
Corgi Guard is not a productivity dashboard. It is a small habit interruption for the moment when scrolling has gone on too long. The current MVP is Chrome-first, free, and privacy-first.
Why use a corgi timer?
A visible, friendly interruption is harder to ignore than another notification. The corgi gives your break a clear start without needing an account, analytics, or a remote settings dashboard.
FAQ
Can I choose which sites are tracked?
Yes. Corgi Guard starts with common social sites and lets you add or remove domains from the tracked list.
Does it collect my browsing history?
No. Settings stay local in Chrome, and Corgi Guard does not use analytics, ads, tracking SDKs, or an account.
Is this only for social media?
Social media is the default use case, but you can add other domains you want counted toward your break timer.
Corgi Guard is an independent Chrome extension project. It is not affiliated with Cat Gatekeeper, its creators, or ZOKUZOKU.
